How a Fidget King competition works
These are prize competitions under the Gambling Act 2005, not a lottery and not betting. Every online entry asks a skill question. Get it wrong and you are not entered. Paid competitions also accept a free postal entry, on a postcard, with the same closing time and the same chance.
When a competition is published we generate a 32-byte seed with PHP's cryptographic RNG. Instant-win prizes are assigned to ticket numbers with a Fisher-Yates shuffle driven by HMAC-SHA256. We publish the SHA-256 of the seed plus that map before anyone can buy. The seed itself stays sealed until the competition closes.
End prizes are drawn from tickets that were actually sold. Each winner is chosen with rejection sampling so the modulo is not biased. The live draw page replays those steps. After the close, the seed is published and you can recompute the commitment.
Scratch cards, wheels, pop-its and mystery boxes are the show. The server already decided. Skipping the animation shows the same result. Refreshing does not roll again.
You must be 18 or over. You can set a daily spend cap, and you can self-exclude for six months. That exclusion cannot be lifted early.
